Empathy, Narrative and Cultural Values 

The Empathy, Narrative and Cultural Values (ENCV) project is led by the University of Birmingham and the University of Exeter and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The project explores how empathy and narrative engagement are shaped by cultural values among Muslim communities in the West Midlands. Focusing on education and cancer care, the research examines how faith, culture, and storytelling influence how narratives are interpreted and shared.
